December 27 2004 | Upstate House Magazine- November 2004 Issue
Designer Lisa Davenport is featured in the magazine Upstate House. The article features a story about Ms. Davenport and a special needs client. Ms Davenport was responsible for the interior design with special attention to ADA conformity. The house was designed with family and friends in mind so that the appearance of the house gave no indication of wheel chair needs. Mechanized doors, windows, and draperies are all controlled by a central remote on the clients wheel chair. All mechanisms were carefully designed to be hidden behind draperies and cornices. A special kitchen table was designed for the use of bar stools rather than chairs so the client can pull up to the table and raise to the height of guests. Many other ameneties were designed by and or with the help of Ms. Davenport.Click here to see the article online. Download a pdf file of the article.
