Over the years, we have truly enjoyed and appreciated the advice and assistance Lisa and her team have given us. My husband and I first worked with her almost 10 years ago when we moved into our new home. At the time she assisted with wall colors and simple design. A decade after constructing our home, my wife and I concluded that we lacked the time, expertise or resources to execute a design fitting of both our lifestyle and tastes. Complicating matters was an ill-fated alliance with a previous designer that resulted in the achievement of neither. Nearly three years later, we can say that we are very comfortable in our home.
Lisa and the Home Gallery staff have been accommodating from day one as they’ve counseled us on design work associated with multiple assignments including furnishings, color, millwork, flooring, window treatments and fabric. My husband and I stopped into the Home Gallery, with our newly completed house plans, to get acquainted with Lisa's company. Lisa has been my designer for over two years, and began work for me when my family moved into a new home in Glastonbury. It was only a few years old, and the previous owners did very little in the house so we had a clean slate really. What she and the Home Gallery staff has done is completely incredible, and we are close to having furnished most of the rooms at this point. She, and her associate Dorothy, have done an amazing job in understanding what our family’s tastes and desires are, and coupled that with her knowledge and flair for making things look fabulous. I have no talent really in decoration, but do have ideas about how I would like things to look. She has selected fabrics and pieces that I never would have thought of and made them fit perfectly in the house. She has been able to work with certain things that I wanted to keep, and was honest where we needed to do full replacement. She is creative and is able to marry uniqueness with sensibility. She always gives me choices, which is helpful when making decisions. One of the other wonderful things about using Lisa’s services is that we pick out the big items (rugs, couches, chairs, bookcases, etc.) and then she fills the space in when the pieces are in with accessories from her showroom. I think that has been so key to the success – you need a room to be filled with not only the big pieces, but accessories which make it a personal space and make it look “done”. She can come over with lamps and side tables and fill a bookcase using my things and hers, so it looks lovely and complete after she is done.
I would highly recommend Home Gallery, and have absolutely love working with them. Lisa is an incredibly talented person in her field, is a pleasure to work with, is timely, responsive, and has a great personality. She is honest with me, and hears what I have to say, making sure the spaces in my home are not only perfectly designed but make us happy to live there. It sounds crazy, but I literally love each and every space she has designed and people who come over are in awe! But she designs space for people to live in, not show houses that you wouldn’t want to sit in the furniture. We started off slowly, and asked Lisa and the Home Gallery to decorate our master bathroom and accessorize our foyer. Lisa and her staff met with us and were able to quickly figure out our taste. When we saw what an amazing job she did with those spaces, we later hired her for our living room. The room turned out to be stunning. People always comment how beautiful it is when they enter the house! When we did our addition, Lisa and her team helped with the plans, from the framing to the finish.
